MSI’s German multi-disciplinary member firm Abels Decker Kuhfuss Lenzen (ADKL) recently announced that the firm signed a €2 billion preliminary contract with Masjed Soleyman Petrochemical Industries Company (M.I.S.) for the development of a major petrochemical project in Iran.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on 25 May 2016 in Tehran by ADKL’s partner Bernd Lenzen and Yousef Davoodi, the managing director of M.I.S, during the visit by Garrelt Duin, the state minister for economic affairs and energy of Germany’s Nordrhein-Westfalen State, to Iran.
The petrochemical project, which will produce urea and ammonia as its key products, will be developed in the northern parts of Khouzestan province in Iran. ADKL will assist M.I.S in providing funds, transferring the technology and implementing contracts for the project within the framework of engineering, procurement, construction and finance (EPCF). It is anticipated that the contract value could increase by up to €10 billion.
